They called it Second Impact.

They say that fifteen years ago, on December 21, 2012, an asteroid
struck the earth, much like the one we assume to have wiped out the
ancient dinosaurs sixty-five million years ago. They fill this into
the texts and histories we teach our children, and for the masses,
it is all we need to know.

It is a lie.

There was no asteroid, there was no natural disaster. Only the foolish
arrogance of man as he tried to be like God, to become his Creator. We
All paid the price for that arrgance, and over half of the human race
died in the aftermath. Those that survived fight to keep going, praying
that there is no Third Impact.

And they are all fools to believe that we are now safe.

They come from afar, they come from within. Some come to punish the
human race for the pride of the few, while others come for their own
selfish ends.

We know not which are the Ascendent and which are the
Fallen, but we must fight both, and those ancient beasts we now bring
to awakened life once more in our world. But for the sake of all
man-kind...we must fight.

And God help us all...
